Paris Hilton, party every night?

We have moved! (Note the new URL.)

Sorry about the logistical difficulties this may have caused. I hope I have not lost any readers. I really loved my old blog address so I kept that URL registered too.

I truly under-estimated my mom's internet savvy because somehow she found my blog and read it (see "sorry I'm not sorry"; I blame my brothers but I should perhaps blame myself because it was in my email signature for some time, after all). I thought to myself, I'm a grown ass woman and I should be able to do what I want, but then she sent me this email:

I am worry about you, It is not like school society any more, a lot of men there, they are just like playboy, they want to have fun , have sex with you, please don't be so open like your blogmake reader feel you are. Don't be too easily get too close to people who you don't know his background at all. I beg you don't stay outside too late by yourself, outside world is not like you think everything is so simple. A lot guys they know how to track girls, especially some guys older than you. (Just imagine when you talk to some people who is younger than you, don't you think you can read their mind easily?)
beside, I don't understand, why you want to write this diary? let everybody know you are very open. I don't know other people's feeling, but from your blog (just pretend we are not mother and daughter) I can feel you are strong, but you are too naive, too adventured, too eager , too quick to have fun with guy.Our gap is so big now? are every young people they all like this, like Paris Hilton? Party every night? Do you have enough sleep? you almost stay late every night. Your blog make people worry about you. How about your landlord, are you safe to live there? I really hope you can stay with me 2 weeks in Taipei.
mom

I think it is actually hilarious that she thinks I "party every night"--I wish! It's hard being a real adult--to make lunch every day (to save money), go to work, try to work out when you come back from work, go out, AND sleep is almost impossible.

Things I am wondering:
-Where are all the men trying to have sex with me?
-Do older men have more advanced technology they can use to track girls?
-I can read the minds of people younger than me? (Younger friends--CC, EC, JB, AC, AJS, watch out!!)

haha, your mother can be worrisome like any typical mother.

however, to be very serious in my comment, i *do* agree with her sentiment that you can not, EVER, trust the internet. i may come off as lecturing, but it's only because through my trackers i know that i have a lot of randos who read my blogs. yes, there are ways of tracking people and if some guy really wanted to, he could. therefore i try not to be too personal, or if i am, i will first just rant it out, email it to a close friend, and after a day and night, if i still want to publish it online, i will.

few people really pour their hearts out online, and it will eventually get them in trouble if it fell in the wrong hands. many have been lambasted online once they were a significant somebody.

i think your mother probably doesn't really know what's going on in your life so her comments about guys stalking you are irrelevant. however, blogging, in general, about people at work, if ever discovered, can get you into serious trouble, a friend of mine nearly got fired over her blog.

bottom line, blog freely, but guard yourself =)
