another gold medal for the Chinese...wait, Filipinos

(Guangzhou office cheerleading routine)

Like many things Asians do to imitate white people, the cheerleading competition was something of a farce.

Yet it was funny and surprising, not only because a lot of Chinese people dancing around is inherently funny, but also because of how seriously the employees took the competition. I assumed the HK office would be the only one with a clue (i.e., the only one with a real choreographer and dancer, yours truly), but I assumed wrong.

The Guangzhou office only fielded a handful of cheerleaders, who looked like they didn't know what they were doing. And they didn't. But they had a secret weapon--a ringleader who fancied himself a Chinese Michael Jackson.

My Shekou office colleague had told me they had not prepared for the competition at all.

Uh...you call this no preparation??

But at least I can console myself with, they had many more people and almost all of them were Filipino so therefore they had an unfair advantage.
